Bryan shocked fans earlier this year when he announced his retirement due to medical reasons.

“It made me very sad,” said Cesaro. “He was always so much fun to be around. I’m very happy that he was able to go out, talk to the fans, say goodbye, in a way that only he can.”

On concussions being a problem in the WWE, Cesaro said: “Everyone is well aware of the risks. They may not just want to face it because there are a lot, so it’s kind of a defence mechanism.”

“People always ask me if I’m afraid of going hurt, but I don’t think about it. It’s just always on your mind, even subconsciously. I also hope it opens people’s eyes a bit more to (show) what we do is very demanding.”
