Farida Osman describes the challenges of heading to the USA to fulfil swimming dream

From hundreds of people turning out to see her at school meets to the dedication she puts in when in the pool, Osman’s story is unlike most others.

Having come from a humble beginning in Egypt, she went on to represent her country at the London Olympics in 2012.

Now, Osman is hoping she can become a beacon of hope for young athletes in Egypt who dream of a life in professional sport.
