It is known as one of the most acrimonious splits in sporting history.

While at the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal were all conquering at their very best and always highly entertaining.

They won consecutive NBA championships in 2000, 2001 and 2002 until the San Antonio Spurs brought them crashing down to earth.

A huge fallout later and one of the greatest, most iconic partnerships in the history of the game came to an abrupt, fractious end.

The rest is history, but what if that history had been shaped entirely differently and the pair had continued to get on?
