James has been an ever-present in the finals since 2011, winning and losing twice with the Miami Heat while his first season back at Cleveland ended in them being defeated by the Golden State Warriors in the showpiece 12 months ago.

The 31-year-old may yet get the opportunity for revenge – the Cavaliers will face either Golden State or the Oklahoma City Thunder in the finals – after booking his side’s spot with his first 30-plus points haul of the play-offs.

James added 11 rebounds and six assists as the Cavaliers secured a 4-2 series win, while Kyrie Irving bagged 30 points with Kevin Love contributing a 20-haul and 12 rebounds.
