Johny Hendricks is moving up a weight class on Saturday as he fights in the light heavyweight category for the first time, and the former UFC welterweight champion is looking forward to the challenge of facing Hector Lombard.

“I’m excited for this fight, because I’m getting to move up in weight, and also [because of] Hector Lombard. He’s a very dangerous person. He has that knockout power,” Hendricks said. “I can’t wait to get mine back as well.”

For his part, Lombard was equally respectful of Hendricks.

“He’s a big name in this sport,” Lombard said of his opponent. “He’s a former champion, and that’s where I want to be.”

Hendricks is not fretting the move up in weight class. “I’ve never been knocked out, and the reason why is because I can move my head. I plan on bouncing around, looking like I did in the old days.”

“I really want to see that old Johny. The guy that can lace somebody out with one punch.”
