Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena, the UFC’s top two bantamweight fighters, are gearing up for their showdown on Saturday at UFC Fight Night Denver.
At open workouts ahead of the fight, Shevchenko said she is pushing herself to the limit in her preparations.
“My focus is only to take this victory,” the top-ranked Shevchenko said. “I’m very motivated.”
For her part, Pena said her week of preparation leading up to the fight had been “great”, adding: “It’s time to enjoy the moment.”
She also fired a warning at Shevchenko, saying: “I’m going to kick, scream, punch, do whatever I have to in order to get this win.”
Donald Cerrone, Jorge Masvidal, Francis Ngannou, and Andrei Arlovski were also present at the open workouts.
