The UFC has reportedly been sold for $4 billion (Dhs 14.6 billion) , the largest figure in sports franchise history.

The organisation is set to make an announcement on Monday after California-based talent agency WME-IMG reportedly signed the deal over the weekend.

As a result of the purchase co-owners Frank and Lorenzo Feritta will exit the organisation after buying the UFC for $2.1 million (Dhs 7.7 million) in 2001.

Dana White will continue to serve as UFC president and his role within the company will not change.

The sale comes after UFC 200 on Saturday, a landmark event that featured Jose Aldo, Brock Lesnar, Daniel Cormier, Cain Velasquez and Amanda Nunes.
