Explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle stepped up his comeback from back surgery with a first net session in three months at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

The 36-year-old, who has been sidelined from cricket since July, asked the Dubai-based training headquarters if he could have a net at the facility on Twitter – and he then faced local UAE bowlers on an outdoor wicket.

Gayle is fighting fit to be ready to play in the Bangladesh Premier League later this month.
