Having qualified for the Champions League, former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy is expecting Jurgen Klopp to strengthen the squad defensively in the upcoming season.

Murphy believes Liverpool need to invest in defenders and Dutch centre-back Virgil Van Dijk who plays for Southampton would be a brilliant signing for the club.

Van Dijk has been heavily linked to Anfield this transfer window.

Meanwhile, Murphy is also pretty excited by the arrival of Mohamad Salah from AS Roma and feels that he is a good addition to the Reds’s squad.

Liverpool have signed Salah on a five-year deal for £35 million but it looks like Klopp will now be switching his focus to buying players that can add to the squad defensively.
