Andy Murray, speaking at Monday’s premiere in London of his ‘Resurfacing’ documentary on Amazon Prime, said a successful 2020 Australian Open would constitute “getting through a five-set match and my hip feels okay.”

The documentary details the former world number one and three-time Grand Slam champion’s remarkable comeback from a career-threatening hip injury.

Having undergone hip resurfacing surgery at the end of January this year, after breaking down during an emotional news conference at the Australian Open, Murray made a tentative return to doubles and mixed doubles in June before he stepped up to singles in August.

Incredibly, just two months later, he won the European Open in Antwerp in October, and now has his sights set on Grand Slam singles tennis in 2020.
