Sobhy, who qualified in eighth place for the 2016 event, enjoyed a great start to the 2016-17 Road to Dubai, finishing as runner-up at the Hong Kong Open to world junior Champion, 18 year-old Nouran Goha.

“It was extremely competitive last year and to get off to a good start was essential, it’s so cut throat that really anyone can make it,’ said Sobhy, who defeated world No. 1 Nour El Sherbini en route to the Hong Kong final and reclaims No.  7 spot in the rankings.
