World No 2 Gregory Gaultier showed no signs of an injury-ravaged season as he ran out 2-0 winner in a feisty encounter with Germany’s Simon Rosner on Tuesday.

The Frenchman was superior for fitness and skill, playing far more aggressive squash from the off at day one of the PSA Dubai World Series Finals.

After the match Gaultier explained that despite being one of the older players on tour now, he was hungrier than ever for victory as he goes in search of a third World Series title.
