In the third episode of Sport360 Stories we meet Simon Hewitt, head of Manchester City Football Schools in Abu Dhabi.

A professional playing career was once on the cards for goalkeeper Simon when he was in the youth system of English football club Bradford City. But a career-ending injury when he was a teenager meant he had to reassess the future.

Determined to stay in the game, Hewitt decided on a career in coaching instead and is now one of the UAE’s top football coaches, with a background most would envy.

Beginning his coaching life at Manchester City in the youth and community schemes, Hewitt decided to take up an opportunity in Abu Dhabi coaching the younger generation of football mad kids.

Now, leading City Football Schools in the UAE capital, Hewitt oversees hundreds of kids from all over the world as they enjoy the beautiful game,

The injury at a young age may have ended Simon’s playing career but now he sees more value in passing on his knowledge to those just beginning their footballing lives.
