Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte believes the Premier League is the hardest club competition in the world as his side prepare to face fellow Serie A giants Juventus in China on Wednesday.

The two Italian sides meet in the pre-season International Champions Cup in Nanjing and it will be Conte’s first match against his former team since being appointed Inter manager in May.

Conte helped Juve to win three Serie A titles among other titles as boss, while he previously won five as a player with the Bianconeri, as well as the Champions League.

In their first pre-season match in Singapore, Conte’s side were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United thanks to Mason Greenwood’s goal. And the Inter boss admits the English league is the best.

“I think nobody will be upset if I say that the Premier League is the most important league and the most difficult competition to play and to win,” said Conte, who lifted the Premier League title as Chelsea boss.

“There are a lot of competition because there are six teams fighting for the title. I think in England is very difficult to win either the Premier League, the FA Cup or the League Cup.

“The Italian championship is growing back and that’s very important. However, I think right now the Premier League is better than any other tournament.”
