France powered past Italy 40-18 in their Six Nations international at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

Tries from Gael Fickou, Virimi Vakatawa, Louis Picamoles and Brice Dulin and faultless Camille Lopez contributing 20 points with his boot earned France their second win of the championship.

Sergio Parisse crossed early for Italy with Angelo Esposito adding a late consolation try. Carlo Canna kicked two penalties and a conversion.

This was wooden spoon recipient Italy’s fourth consecutive defeat.
