As part of its sponsorship of the UAE team for the Rio Paralympics 2016, UAE-based satellite operator Yahsat connected an entire community by taking four UAE athletes to meet a group of local children in Rio de Janeiro.

The four athletes, including powerlifter gold medallist Mohammed Khalaf, were also joined by the Head of the UAE Paralympics Delegation, Theban Al-Muhairi, and two coaches.

The quartet, part of the most successful UAE Paralympic team to date, began the day with a tour of the institute where they joined young sports enthusiasts in their Judo training, before sharing inspirational stories, showing off their medals, and giving out special gifts of dates and a mini trophy to familiarise the children with the UAE’s culture.
