Leading sportswear company adidas has announced the launch of a brand new category – adidas Athletics, with the local campaign featuring Al Wasl midfielder Fabio Lima,  middle distance runner Lee Ryan, and long distance Rio 2016 runner Ann Mari Hyrylainen.

Lima, Ryan and Hyrylainen are fronting the local launch of adidas’ innovative new category alongside international sporting icons Gareth Bale, James Harden and Ana Ivanovic, who will each showcase the first product of the revolutionary range, the Z.N.E Hoodie, ahead of their upcoming performances.

Designed to deliver a fresh take on traditional pre and post-match outwear, the adidas Athletics collection is specifically engineered to remove distractions and maximise athletes’ focus in the make-or-break period before they compete.

“To be a part of the launch of the adidas Athletics category alongside such well-respected and talented global athletes is incredible,” said Hyrylainen. “Finding concentration and mental focus is integral to my pre-race ritual to ensure that I am fully focused on the performance ahead. The adidas Z.N.E Hoodie allows me to block out the noise around me and set my sights on my goal.”

Al Wasl Midfielder, Fabio Lima added: “With the season now underway in the UAE, the Z.N.E Hoodie is a great introduction to my pre match preparation as it helps me find focus by minimizing interferences so I can concentrate on getting my head in the game.”
