Favourite and 2015 runner-up California Chrome galloped clear to scoop the $9.6m jackpot at the Meydan Racecourse, in the world’s most lavish horse race.

Chrome, the 2014 US Horse of the Year, galloped clear by four lengths to give Espinoza and trainer Art Sherman a first win at one of the most prominent events in the racing calendar.
