Top firefighters battle it out at UAE World Firefighter Challenge in Abu Dhabi

The highlight event saw 300 participants fly from over 18 different countries to participate in the “Toughest 2 minutes in sport”.

Canada took the first three spots in the over-40 competition with Jimmy Magarva claiming gold for the second consecutive year.

In the over-50 category, the US clinched gold with Tommy L. Osborne in first place, followed by Canadian David Hawkes in second.

Consequently, the results of male and female individual runs will be announced Wednesday alongside a set of relay rounds.

The tournament is the first of its kind in the Middle East, Europe and Africa and is an unprecedented initiative that aims at highlighting the importance of training and fitness to improve the skills of firefighters.
