Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane continues to insist Gareth Bale is happy at the club and working well with his team-mates, although he is expected to again miss Los Blancos’ appointment with Real Betis on Saturday.

Real won 5-0 against Leganes on Wednesday, and Zidane is starting to see a plan shaping for the season. For the first time in 2019/20, the Frenchman used the same 11 starting players for two games in a row with two victories, against Galatasaray and Leganes.

Brazilian teenager Rodrygo has been performing well in the absence of Bale, and debate rages on about whether the Welshman is happy in the Spanish capital.

But Zidane quickly shot those rumours down, saying: “I don’t know, we should bring him here to talk to you guys so he can tell you how he feels. But I think he’s OK.

“He’s here, I don´t have to do anything. He’s here with us, he practices, although with your questions it seems like he didn’t. He’s here, he works, he’s back from his trip and he’s training already, he’s feeling better but he’s not available yet.”

Zidane also spoke about Belgian attacker Eden Hazard, insisting he is happy with the former Chelsea’s form.
