Analysing the problems at Real Madrid and who could potentially fix them

Real Madrid have opened up 2019 with just one point from two league games and are now 10 points behind rivals and leaders Barcelona.

They are outside the top-four qualification spots for the Champions League and there is genuine concern that the European champions from four out of the last five seasons might not even make it for next season.

But these problems are much deeper than just boss Santiago Solari, the Argentine coach who took over from Julen Lopetegui back in October.

Indeed, while Solari, much like Lopetegui, enjoyed a fine start at the helm, results have nosedived once again, culminating in a draw with Villarreal and defeat to Real Sociedad.

So the question is, what’s gone wrong? Check out the video above to see our examination of Madrid’s issues and who could potentially fix them in the summer.
