Rafael Nadal was out on the practice courts during the peak midday Abu Dhabi sun, hitting with Belgian David Goffin.

The Spaniard 14-time Grand Slam champion then conducted a coaching clinic with Mubadala youngsters before meeting UAE superstar Omar Abdulrahman for a knock-up on centre court.

Later on during the first day of the event, Andy Murray, who plays on Friday, met fans and signed autographs in the tennis village.
