The World No.1 leads the Mubadala World Tennis Championship field in the UAE capital and will look to set the tone for 2017 with a strong showing this week.

Murray, who won Wimbledon, the Olympics and ATP World Tour Finals to finish the year as the highest ranked player, is up against familiar foes in Abu Dhabi, including 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal.

“2016, especially the last four to five months on the court, was the best of my career – I’ve learnt from that and I’ll try and keep it going,” he told Sport360 on Wednesday.

“The best way to prepare for the new season is to play against and practice with the best players in the world, and there’s six of the world’s top 15 players here in Abu Dhabi.”

Do you think Murray will win the title at Zayed Sports City?
