A hare narrowly escaped being hit by a supercar in treacherous conditions during the opening DTM race of the weekend in Assen on Saturday.

Aston Martin driver Daniel Juncadella was forced to retire early with a technical problem, but almost made contact with the animal as he attempted to pull off the track.

The hare showed great agility to evade the car, which could do little to slow down in the extremely wet conditions.
