Jurgen Klopp was crowned FIFA The Best men’s coach of the year on Monday – but he certainly won’t let that go to his head as he targets a Premier League title for Liverpool at long last.

Klopp’s men have started the season with a perfect record in the Premier League, winning six of six so far, with mega rivals Manchester City already five points off the pace.

Having won a sixth Champions League title last season, it’s the domestic trophy that is coveted the most by every person associated with Liverpool.

However, with the season still so young, Klopp is not taking anything for granted.

“I’ve no idea, I don’t know, we will see,” said Klopp when asked if his side are favourites to win the Premier League. “It’s a long season, 32 games to go, so obviously really a lot of work to do. A lot of miles to run, but it’s a good start, we created a basis. That’s ok, not more but not less. So far so good, but we have to do more.

“The Champions League final last year I think helped a little bit…to win the Champions League, it gave the boys kind of a natural confidence, the character of the boys helps them to use that, and not to misunderstand it.

“So far the season is absolutely ok, we still have space for improvement and that’s what we’re working on.”
