Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde discussed his side’s La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad – and looked ahead to a Champions League semi-final against Liverpool – on Friday.

With six games left in their La Liga campaign, leaders Barca sit nine points clear of nearest rivals Atletico Madrid.

And as they have beaten and drawn with Atletico in La Liga this season, three wins over the next eight days – in games against Real Sociedad, Alaves and Levante – would guarantee Barca an eighth Spanish top flight title in 11 years.

That could be the first part of a ‘treble’ for Ernesto Valverde’s side, who will meet Valencia in the Copa del Rey final on 25th May – seven days before Madrid stages the UEFA Champions League final.

Having overcome Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-finals, Barcelona will meet another English side – last year’s beaten finalists Liverpool – in the last four.
