The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicked off in Abu Dhabi on Friday with Chennai Super Kings beating defending champions Mumbai Indians by five wickets.

There were some excellent individual performances across the board as the two heavyweights collided in the UAE. Chasing a target of 163 on a tricky pitch at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Chennai earned victory with four deliveries to spare.

Ambati Rayudu starred with the bat for the Yellow Army, with the right-handed batsman smashing a fluent 71 off 48 deliveries. Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla was instrumental with the ball for the winners and conceded just 21 runs in his four-over spell.
