VIDEO: Andy Murray and Lleyton Hewitt talk up Davis Cup hopes ahead of GB vs Australia

16:10 18/09/2015

Andy Murray and Lleyton Hewitt both appeared confident ahead of Great Britain and Australia's Davis Cup semi-final in Glasgow, Scotland on Friday.

Murray said: "I think, you know, the atmosphere when we played in the first round here (against the USA) was phenomenal and I think that this time you know, it will be even better. The crowd obviously know what the team and the players need from them and I believe we'll be able to use them to our advantage over the weekend.

"I expect a tough match [against Thanasi Kokkinakis]. Like you say, I know Thanasi well, I've spent time with him away from the court also and he's a really nice person, you know, very respectful, hard worker, good manners, all of that stuff. I really like him, you know, but this weekend we're obviously rivals and hopefully I'll be able to use my experience in these situations to my advantage.

"You know, it can obviously work in a positive way for him in that he goes out with no fear, you know, but it's also going to be tough playing in this atmosphere as well. So hopefully I can put on a good performance and try and get the first point on the board."

Hewitt said: "It's been great. All our boys have been really looking forward to it obviously. Once we won the quarter-final tie down in Darwin (against Kazakhstan) we had to push really hard to get through that tie. It's been a really good team effort leading into this semi-final and we feel like we've come here with a pretty strong team and we know it's going to be a really tough weekend of tennis but we think we've got a team that can pull together and hopefully win the three rubbers we need."
