The UAE Royals won the 2016 International Premier Tennis League opening match in style as they beat Singapore Slammers 29-19 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Friday.

Martina Hingis was the star of the show as she trounced Kiki Bertens 6-1, while world No. 10 Tomas Berdych triumphed over Nick Kyrgios 6-4.

Meanwhile, the Indian Aces brushed aside hosts Japan Warriors 30-17, winning all five sets.
