Donaldson’s unfortunate scuffle became the talk of golf fans after he posted graphic pictures of his battle scars on social media, while the machine got away with zero damage.

And having missed out on returning to Abu Dhabi this month, Donaldson shares his account of the run-in with the saw.

“I’m one of these people who can’t sit still at home so I was out there doing a few jobs out in the garden and started to nearly cut my finger off,” he explained.

“These things happen. I’m not one of these people that will sit around and save myself for golf all the time.”
