Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante refused to read too much into goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refusing to be substituted in the team’s League Cup final defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Watching Arrizabalaga appearing to struggle with cramp, and with a penalty shootout looming to settle the League Cup final, Sarri summoned Willy Caballero from the bench.

But controversially, Arrizabalaga refused to leave the field.

“For us it was nothing important. We just waited for what happened. At the end Kepa stayed. We tried our best in the penalty shootout but at the end we lost,” Kante said.
