Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi led his team in boycotting the media following his country’s 3-0 win over Colombia on Tuesday night.

Messi called for “respect” from the press which he and his team felt has undermined their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Standing with folded arms and surrounded by his team-mates, Messi spoke to press before leading the team off the stage in a move that left the waiting media flabbergasted.

The main ire drawn from the media were accusations that forward Ezequiel Lavezzi had used drugs before training in the lead up to their latest match, while criticism of their faltering campaign was deemed overly harsh by Messi & co.

Do you agree with Messi’s stance or do you think the media were within their rights to question Lavezzi and the team?
