Sachin Tendulkar, former Indian cricketer feels there is potential in the USA.

"I have been part of this kind of clinics and it's always a satisfying feeling to be able to give back to cricket, to young cricketers," he said. "And for young cricketers, they look up to heroes, and you have 30 heroes here, you know. So they all need role models.

"I have had role models while I was growing up, so it's important that the role models interact with you, it's a perfect recipe to make things work."

Mahela Jayawardene, former Sri Lankan cricketer, believes their influence could be enough to gain interest in the sport.

"Well it's great, I mean, I am a bit of a baseball fan as well so I do enjoy these kinds of opportunities to be part of a very rich, traditional venue," he said. "To see so many kids here, to be part of a clinic, I mean it's a great opportunity for them to be with all these players and, you know, speak to them, take a few photographs and get a few tips, and on this baseball field.

"I don't think they'll get an opportunity better than this. But for us it's all about taking the game cricket forward."
