Former England captain Andrew Strauss is the latest to select an all-time XI as part of an ongoing series from Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Strauss picked one Indian and one Pakistani cricketer each, with Sachin Tendulkar and Shoaib Akhtar making it into his side.

In the bowling department, it is clear that Strauss has chosen bowlers whom he struggled against rather than going by their overall records. Picking Morne Morkel ahead of Dale Steyn is an example of that.

As is the case with most of these all-time XIs, the most represented team is Australia – with the Director of Cricket for England selecting as many as four players from his Ashes rivals.
