Batting first, the West Indies scored 249-6 before declaring and putting the UAE in to bat.

Leon Johnson and Shai Hope both reached half-centuries for the visitors.

By the close of play UAE had been reduced to 56-7 thanks to the superb bowing of Miguel Cummins and Jonathan Carter, who took three and four wickets respectively.
