Lewis Hamilton wrote himself into the record books once again as the Mercedes driver clinched a sixth world title at the United States Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Brit needed to finish in the top eight in Texas to sew up his title but he was in no mood to relent as he pulled out an excellent drive.

Hamilton finished second eventually, behind his Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas to move past Argentine great Juan Mangel Fangio with regards to world titles captured.

He is now just one title away from drawing level with Michael Schumacher’s record seven titles.

“I like it. I really like number six,” Hamilton said after his remarkable feat.

“It sounds good. But it hasn’t sunk in just yet.”

Read what else the Mercedes driver had to say in the video above.
