Dunga said: "We have to stick with the facts. The facts were presented to us by our legal team, which was that an appeal was made (to have Neymar's suspension reduced) and we were not successful.

"Based on this, I would like to have your help on this issue. We would like to have Neymar. It is not possible. Therefore, we must focus on the players that will contribute with us for these two World Cup qualifiers.

"Regarding a player's choice it is very simple: There's no influence on calling or not calling a player. What we evaluate are the technical, physical, tactical conditions, and, of course, the behaviour of a player.

"Now, as anyone, like my children, like you, when you make a mistake… it's not that because of a mistake we shall cut a head off. We must explain the reasons, the way we work, why a decision is being taken. Now, if the mistake persists, we must take a decision."
