Let’s start with a positive: Ronald Koeman’s first task as Barcelona manager is to reacquaint himself with Frenkie de Jong and build his new team’s midfield around the former Ajax man.

Koeman, of course, knows De Jong very well after they spent the last couple of years working together with the Dutch national team.
