Barcelona to sign Neymar? They don’t need him when Ansu Fati is the future of the club

Ansu Fati has been one of the biggest breakout stars in world football over the last few months, and one of the main decisions facing Barcelona manager Quique Setien is how much of a role he gives to the youngster when action finally resumes.

Fati’s bare stats are pretty impressive: in just over 1000 minutes of play in all competitions – the equivalent of 11 full games – he has recorded five goals and one assist.

That assists tally could actually be much higher, because he has been a consistent creative force.

He has teed up 27 goalscoring opportunities in La Liga, averaging out at more than 3.5 shot-creating actions per game – the third-highest for Barca behind only Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele.

And all that from a player who only turned 17 in October. Not bad at all.
