Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel says he hopes team-mate Eden Hazard will move from Chelsea to Real Madrid this summer.

Witsel, speaking ahead of Belgium’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Scotland, said: “What do you want me to say about it? Eden Hazard is just a fantastic player. For me he’s just one of the best in the world in his position and I just really hope for him he will move to Real Madrid because he deserves it.”

Chelsea and Real Madrid are locked in negotiations with the two clubs miles apart in their transfer fee valuations.

According to Goal.com, the Blues want €130 million for the playmaker, while the La Liga side are hoping to capture his signature for around the €100m mark.

Madrid have sent a representative to London to meet with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia.

It is believed that a deal for €120m could well see this summer’s transfer saga brought to an end.
