Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has continued to lead Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe in the European top scorer’s charts, with the season edging to towards its climax across Europe.

With the Premier League now done, none of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane can beat this pair. But even from the other four major competitions, it is only Messi and Mbappe who can conceivably come top.
