Cruzeiro right-back Edilson cried during a press conference when talking about the turmoil in Venezuela, the country of Deportivo Lara who they will face on Wednesday in their Copa Libertadores group-stage clash.

Deportivo Lara are on an epic journey to face the Brazilian side, after the game was postponed twice due to the ongoing political crisis in the South American country.

The Venezuelans left Caracas on Sunday afternoon to Lima, staying overnight in the Peruvian capital and leaving on Monday to Sao Paulo, Brazil and then an internal flight to Belo Horizonte, arriving late Monday night.

Cruzeiro is leading group B with three points, one ahead of Ecuador’s Emelec, while Deportivo Lara and Argentina’s Huracan both have a solitary point after two matches.
