Emiliano Sala‘s remains arrived back in his home province of Santa Fe in Argentina on Friday.

His family will hold a private funeral service in the city ahead of Saturday’s funeral service. Saturday’s memorial will take place in his home town Progreso and will be open to the public.

The Argentina-born forward died in an airplane crash in the English Channel last month when flying from Nantes in France to start his new career with English Premier League club Cardiff City.
