Saudi Arabia players train ahead of Uruguay clash

19:21 08/10/2014

The Saudi football team continued their training for their two international games in four days against Uruguay and then Lebanon four days later.

The matches are in preparation for the coming Gulf Cup which will be hosted by the Saudis in November this year – and the Asian Cup which will be held in Australia in January 2015.

They have won the Asian Cup three times before, in 1984, 1988 and 1996.

But in recent years have failed to thrive at the Championship – or to qualify for the World Cup.

It is likely that the match will feature Luis Suarez for his first appearance for Uruguay since biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

Suarez has only played in a youth game and a friendly for Barcelona this season.
