Real Madrid icon Raul has backed former teammate Zinedine Zidane to continue as boss by claiming there is no better man for the Los Blancos hotseat.

Real are 14 points off runaway La Liga leaders Barcelona, who have played a game less, following Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Espanyol.

But Raul is adamant the right man is in place to lead the reigning Spanish and European champions.

“(He’s) amazing,” said Raul, who was speaking in his role as a Laureus ambassador.

“He’s two years in front of the team, he won two Champions Leagues, one league, a lot of trophies.

“He’s the best coach for Real Madrid and we want to continue in the future.”
