Thomas Sorensen played over 400 games in the Premier League during stints at Aston Villa, Sunderland and Stoke City, so there is not much about top class goalkeeping he does not know.

The current Melbourne City goalkeeper was Peter Schmeichel’s successor with Denmark and went on to play 101 matches for his country, making him their eighth-most capped player of all time.

Perhaps, though, Sorsensen will be best remembered for his penalty-saving exploits.

Alan Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo have both had penalties saved by the Dane and here, Sorensen reveals to Sport360 how he used to get into opposition penalty taker’s heads and why he experienced so much success in this area.
