Mickael Roche may not be a household name, partly because Tahiti are ranked 196 in the world, but his incredible own goal against Fiji has turned him into an internet sensation.

The 33-year-old received a throw-in on his own goal line, and diverted the ball into his own net under pressure.

Whilst players do make rash decisions under pressure, Roche’s was utterly stupid…

In 2013, Roche conceded 18 goals in two games against Spain (10) and Uruguay (8) in the Confederations Cup, and managed to keep a clean sheet two weeks later when Tahiti destroyed Micronesia 30-0!
