New Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta spoke on Friday about the challenges he will face in his new role, as well as feeling “happy, proud and excited” about returning “home” to the North London Club.

Arsenal drew against Everton on Saturday – who also welcomed a new manager, Carlo Ancelotti – in a match where Arteta watched his side from the stands.

The Spaniard spoke about the “tweaks” and “changes” he will make to his team as he revealed Arsenal’s “identity has slipped” over the last few years.

He will take charge of the ‘Gunners’ in his first match on Boxing Day as they will travel down the south coast to take on Bournemouth.
