Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given his blessings to Mikel Arteta should he decide to take up the Arsenal job.

Arteta, who is a part of Guardiola’s coaching staff at Manchester City, has been heavily linked with the Arsenal managerial position in the last few days. Speculation about him becoming the next Arsenal manager have intensified in recent days with Guardiola going on to confirm that his assistant has been in talks with his former club.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new manager ever since they sacked Unai Emery from the job. The Gunners have temporarily appointed Freddie Ljungberg as an interim coach.
