Liverpool went nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table following their win over Manchester City but manager Jurgen Klopp has downplayed the significance of the sizable gap.

The Reds prevailed 3-1 over City in a controversy marred clash at Anfield to stretch the gap over the reigning Premier League champions. But while many are branding as the champions elect already, Klopp is not ready to celebrate just yet.

The Merseyside club had held a significant lead over City last season as well, only to be pipped to the title after an extraordinary run of wins from Pep Guardiola’s men.

Speaking after the clash at Anfield on Sunday, Klopp warned that coming first in May was what mattered most, with their nine -point advantage in November counting for nothing.

See what else the Liverpool boss had to say about his side’s title credentials in the video posted above.
